Sweet and shy Sparky went to his forever home today. Sparky came to us two years ago when his previous owner surrendered him at the Balch Springs shelter because he was “sick and wouldn’t eat”; the story goes that Mrs. Huffman (Dana’s Mom) overheard and asked if she could try and feed him – and wouldn’t you know, he ate just fine. For the first 9 months he was fostered by Sheri Scroggins and family and then, for another 16 months, by Pat Rotundo. Pat was very close to Sparky and, as she says, had she been younger or he been older, she would have kept him but would, instead, await the perfect family. That family finally came along and adopted him this past Saturday – thank you Sheri and Pat for taking such good care of him, I know he was a very tough one to let go.
