Beautiful chocolate-colored Athena was adopted today! Given Athena’s high-energy, fun-loving personality, her fosters knew it would take a very special person to adopt her, and when an application was submitted, they took some unusual steps to make sure things went well. An initial, very casual meet-and-greet in the park was arranged to see how everyone got along on neutral territory and see if there was a connection. That went so well, a home visit was immediately scheduled. At the home visit, everything fell into place.
Athena’s new mom is a former dog groomer with lots of big-dog experience, she’s active and looks forward to long walks/runs with Athena to burn off energy, and she works close enough to her home that she can go home at lunch for some time with her new dog. We couldn’t have asked for an applicant better suited to Athena!
Rescued from the Red Oak shelter, Athena was fostered by pros Johny Prabhakara and Yvonne Ngo. Thanks for another great job (with ANOTHER big, brown dog – you two are getting stereotypical)!
