I’m a bit behind on posting this but our sweet doxie girl, Cappuccino, was adopted on Halloween! Now named Molly, her new family, the Manns, are long-time supporters of RHS and have adopted pets from us several times before – starting way back in 2003 when they adopted Boeing (who was very aptly named since his tag number was 747!).
Cappy/Molly was extremely shut down and timid when she was rescued from the Collin County Animal Shelter. She had to be brought inside foster mom, Martha’s, house in her kennel because she was too scared to be picked up; it took Martha three days just to get a collar on her. With patience and time, she eventually grew confident enough to allow Martha to pet her and to join foster brother, Lopez, in backyard monitoring duties.
When the Manns expressed an interest in Cappy, Martha felt that they could help her continue to come out of her shell. Together they are making real progress, as shown by Cappy/Molly’s complete comfort when taking a post-breakfast nap on her dad!
Thanks to Karen for taking a chance on Cappy/Molly and to Martha for fostering her through her fears. Happy tails, Molly!
