Cozi came to RHS from the Mesquite Shelter on January 2, 2018, and gave birth to six adorable puppies on January 10 in foster Julie Summer’s home (Binny, Cinnamon, Cloud, Cowboy, Cozette, and Train). Julie fostered Cozi and her babies until they were ready to be separated, then Cozi went to stay with Mark and Kathy Shada. While Cozi’s babies were growing up and being adopted into their forever homes, Kathy and Mark saw Cozi through heartworm treatment and fell in love with her along the way.
Mark and Kathy are long-time friends to RHS; they have two other RHS-adopted dogs, Lindale in 2010 (now Lenny) and Coda in 2014 (now Frank). They also have 18-year-old Kooper and 10-year old Irving. Kathy says Cozi gets along with all of them and is “besties with whoever will put up with her at the moment.” They are grateful all the dogs get along beautifully, and Cozi is just a part of the pack now.
