From her mom, Jennifer: My life was forever changed when I came across the sweetest face on PetFinder. I took a chance and went to PetsMart in Richardson and met my new best friend. Darcy (formerly Chadsey) filled a void I didn’t even know I had. She quickly became my everyday companion. She was always there for a walk around the block, a ride in the car, or an adventure up to the school library. She was a great travel buddy; we even went to Oregon! We had so many adventures that I couldn’t possibly have imagined all of those years without her. Even though she wasn’t who I thought I was looking for, she was exactly who I needed.
She loved people and she quickly possessed them. They were hers from that point forward. People we came across on walks, in the park, or at the pet store all commented on how happy she was and that she was always smiling, her eyes bright and full of love. There was never a moment when she didn’t bring joy to me or those she was around. I especially enjoyed her prancing, a trait of Wheaten Terriers I soon learned about. She greeted me regularly with a happy smile and a wag of her tail through her final days. She was not much of a snuggler or a kiss giver and I gave her that space. It just meant that much more when she chose to snuggle or kiss me, much like she did on her last day. She knew I was her person!
She was absolutely my favorite hello and definitely my hardest goodbye. I loved her every day of her life that she was with me and I will miss her every day for the rest of mine.
