Anyone that has met Dillon knows that this cat is very sweet, gentle, and loving (not to mention, handsome). He walks funny, likes to stretch, and can be mistaken for a “magnet” with the way he follows you around sometimes, but he’s a charmer overall – even well-behaved at MTP events!
Dillon was originally brought into RHS with a fractured tail due to whatever unfortunate life he had pre-rescue. The amputation surgery needed was $1082!!… Every single bit of it was covered by donations campaigned for by Joanne and the surrounding rescue family.
The surgery went very well and Dillon got through recovery just fine, even though he did not get to play as much as he wanted to. 😉
After a few months of being fostered by Joanne Craiker and going through recovery, Dillon was moved to Jack Boyd. Joanne was amazing in helping out with this transition. She provided food, toys, written info, and just about anything and everything Jack and Dillon would need.
This was Jack’s first foster, so he naturally grew to love Dillon and took very good care of him.
Our story comes full circle after Jack went home from college for Winter Break… Joanne, of course, happily took Dillon back into her home. In this “temporary” transition back, Joanne fell in love all over again and even the other kitties started to get along. All was well in the Craiker home, so Dillon decided to stay. After all, he really likes his cat tree Christmas presents anyway!
The adoption was finalized this past Thursday, January 11th, 2018.
HUGE, HUGE, HUGE thanks to a ton of people in this little guy’s life…
Everyone that donated for Dillon’s care, everyone that cared/campaigned for Dillon, Breckinridge Animal Hospital, Jack Boyd for fostering, and Joanne for being so passionate and patient and for giving Dillon the forever home he deserves.
Congratulations, Craiker family!
