The first RHS adoption of 2016 was a sweet one!
Lovable boxer mix puppy Duke – another pup whose affectionate and sweet temperament kept him alive beyond his allotted time at a city shelter – found a terrific forever mom and dad to call his own. He will be an only dog for now, so he will have all the attention he deserves.
Martha had the pleasure to be Duke’s personal chauffeur for vet appointments, potential foster home visits, etc, since he came into the program in early December. Thank you to Denise Dickerson for helping with an earlier potential foster home visit for Duke… where the home dog definitely did not want a little foster brother, no matter HOW sweet he was, but that’s another story…. and to Gail Teel for helping with his adoptive home visit.
Huge thank you to Dana Huffman for rescuing Duke and to the staff of Pooch Hotel for fostering and loving him! It was hard for many of us to let him go, but he hit the jackpot with his sweet new family!
