We had a special mid-week adoption today – Herschel decided he was happy right where he was and convinced his foster family that he should be a permanent family member! They asked to do the adoption today for a very special reason – it’s the 15th anniversary of the day Kris adopted her dog, Samantha, from RHS! Sam has crossed the Rainbow Bridge but a picture of her is attached because we know she’s watching over her family. 🙂
Herschel (known as Hershey when he’s good or Herschel Chadwick after his rescuer, Cindy Chadwick, when he’s naughty!) joins a small family with a mom, dad, human sister and canine sister, Lucy.
Rescued from a hoarding situation in south Texas, Herschel had very little idea how to be a pet. He was so shy he stayed in the mud room at Kris’s house for ages and so nervous he didn’t eat for 2 days. But with patience, he gradually came out of his shell a bit and started to interact with his family, worming his way quietly into their lives and hearts.
Thanks to Cindy for rescuing Hershey and thank you to the Keesy-Collier family for fostering and loving him forever!
