“It takes a village” is a common refrain in rescue groups, and ours is no different, but it’s especially true with our dogs who are boarded. That particular village involves the boarding facility, the transporters, the part time fosters, and the advocates – those who bust them out for overnight stays, for romps in dog parks or who simply love on them at MTP.
This was the case with Jacki, our sweet black Husky mix who came to us in May of 2016, and finally found her forever home today. This morning at K9 University, Jacki was adopted by a wonderful young man, Sean Yates, and will live with Sean and his grandmother, keeping them active going to the dog park, taking walks, and tossing the ball in their back yard.
Special thanks to the village – the Cortez family who initially fostered Jacki, Andrea Hamblin and Michael Dorr who transported her every weekend without fail and kept her overnight as often as they could, K9 Garland who trained, boarded and cared for her until we found her forever home and, of course, every volunteer at MTP who loved and doted on her – and there were many.
Several villagers showed up for the adoption today too…
