A little, old, white fluffy dog was found wandering on her own last September and was taken in by the Richardson Animal Shelter. She was old, blind, partially deaf, and cantankerous because of an ear infection. It seemed unlikely that anyone would choose this old girl from the shelter, so Richardson Humane Society stepped up, and her new foster mom, Pat Rotundo, named her Junie.
It turned out that Junie’s chronic ear infections were the result of multiple benign tumors in the ear canal. After surgery to remove them on May 25, Junie was reportedly doing well at the surgery clinic, and Pat was going to pick her up on Friday. Instead, Pat got an early morning phone call that Junie had collapsed and passed away Friday morning.
Junie was much loved by her terrific foster mom and will be greatly missed.
