Peeps also went home today – or rather, decided to STAY home by making it permanent with her foster mom, Martha. When her human passed away, senior dachshund Peeps ended up in the Collin County Shelter; she was rescued by RHS around Easter and named after the marshmallow candy chicks. She was initially fostered by Marj Atkinson and then Martha before going to live with a new family. It wasn’t a good fit for Peeps, though, and she came back to RHS. Her quirky, funny personality endeared her to Martha and she became a member of the Denton pack for good. She went home decked out in a blingy name tag and a sweatshirt with “Rescued and Loved” on the back.
