Our big, beautiful brindle girl, Rosie, was adopted today! She joins a lively family of three girls, Mom and Dad and a Labradoodle named Bailey, so she’ll have lots of people to love on her and a canine playmate to hang with. Although normally shy, at the home visit she made herself right at home by eating Bailey’s lunch, leaving him staring in shock! It seems clear that she’s going to be a Daddy’s girl as she gravitates naturally to Nate, although Mom, Mindy, will be home far more often so that could change as Rosie settles in. They plan to keep her name since she’s comfortable with it and it suits her.
The sweetest thing happened when we were finished with the contract, everyone had agreed on which color collar and leash suited her best, and it was time for them to go home. Rosie was nervous about leaving and hid in the corner. Nate got down on the floor and called all his girls together to give Rosie hugs, kisses and encouragement, assuring her that things were going to be just fine. She came out of her corner and everyone happily walked out together as a family.
Rosie and her sister, Marlo, were rescued from the Balch Springs shelter at just 8 weeks of age. They were both fostered by Brooke and Colton Stubblefield and adopted in 2018. Unfortunately Rosie came back to RHS a few months ago, but luckily for her, Brooke and Colton were willing and able to foster her again. Thank you for opening your home to her when she needed you; we know it was hard letting her go a second time.
